Balance

At any given time, I feel like I'm juggling a minimum of ten balls. Ten balls up in the air that could drop at any minute.
And sometimes they do.
Sometimes I drop a ball or two.

Lucky for me, they're usually balls I can pick right back up and toss high again.

September is a nightmare month for me. It has been for years. I'm just always really, really busy. September is only rivaled by November, which is also insanely busy. But lately I've learned to hate that word. "Busy". While I sometimes I do believe I'm busy, I also believe that I make time for the things I want to make time for.

Sometimes I could be working on bookkeeping things at home to get caught up at the CPA office, but sometimes I'd rather watch 6 episodes in a row of NCIS: Los Angeles instead. Sue me.

Sometimes I really need to do laundry, wash the dishes, and clean my bathroom. But sometimes I'd rather go to my best friends house and help her make fun of her boyfriend. It's a good time.

I guess what I'm saying is we're all busy.
And from what I've been told and from what I've seen, that doesn't slow down for year and years to come.
It's also not a new phenomenon. People have been busy for decades.

So today, I'm going to start trying to find a balance in my life.
I need to find a way to juggle as many balls as possible and only drop the ones I can pick back up.

  1. Sometimes it's really important to realize that being busy and being involved are two different things. And in my case, I learned that too late and dropped the ball on some stuff (HA!)

Props to you for figuring it all out!

  2. It is so true that we make time for the things we want to make time for. We're all busy with our own things and it's up to us to make time for what is important to us. No one else can do it for us and it won't just happen on it's own. I definitely new to reflect on this over the weekend. Awesome post!

  5. If it can wait until tomorrow, do something else instead! Like visit with a friend over doing the dishes, because time with a friend may not be there tomorrow, but those dishes definitely will be! But this also may be why my house is always a disaster :)

  7. Love this post! Sometimes all you need is to take a moment and reflect on how you're running your life, what's taking priority, and if it's really what needs to have priority, if not, do something to fix it! I too have to do this often. Great post!
