Did I Just.. Vlog?!

I'm not really even sure what to type here right now.
I feel like I need to throw a disclaimer on here - I'm freaking weird. But I sort of like it.

Here are things you need to know before you watch this video, other than I'm weird:
  • I don't know how to edit videos. So all of the parts where I say "I should edit this out".. Well, they didn't get edited out. Any advice on this subject would be appreciated.
  • I don't like my voice. I know it's annoying, I'm sorry.
  • There is absolutely no point to this video. It started off really promising, but since there was zero pre-planning involved, it gets out of control at an alarming rate.
  • I got really high pitched at the beginning and sound legit terrifying. I have no excuse for this.
  • IRL I sometimes talk in weird voices and because I don't know how to edit this dang video, you get to hear some of my weird voices.
  • I didn't know how to end this (how do people end vlogs without sounding like a douchbag?) so I get really ridiculous at the end. #selfielighting #handpuppet
  • I talk with my hands.
  • I'm long winded.
  • The YouTube guy/Viner that I talk about.. Yea, I pronounce his last name (Santagato) incorrectly and I knew it the minute I did it, but yea.. Just know that I'm an idiot.
  • I apologize.
So.. I guess here you go.
You should click on this link and go directly to YouTube to watch this. It looks weird on my blog and I don't know how to fix it. Pretty much, story of my life.

Links I mentioned:
My Twitter - @MissKayStoll
Joe Santagato's old YouTube account
Joe Santagato's new YouTube account

Um.. If this is your last time you'll be visiting my blog because you've seen how odd I am, then Bye and See Ya Around. If you're planning on sticking with me.. Bless You.
I love you and I'll see you Monday.

Oh and if any of you have any tips/tricks/helpful advice on how to edit videos or basically do anything involving videos, I could clearly use the help.

Blog Post Struggles

I open up blogger with a thousand ideas running through my head.

Blank screen. Perfect white space for all of my great post ideas.

Excitement.

I write two sentences.

Excitement x2.

Wait, no, that post will take too much effort, I'll save that one for another day.

Delete.

Check my notebook for other potential blog post ideas I've written down.

Begin another post.

Write a paragraph.

Decide that I don't have any pictures to go with that post.

Delete.

Stare at the empty white space of Blogger for a little bit.

Brilliant idea strikes!

Start writing a few sentences.

Search Pinterest for links to add to the post.

Get lost in the deep, dark, black hole that is Pinterest.

Waste 2 hours.

Go back to Blogger and your 3 sentences.

Decide you don't have time to do that topic justice tonight.

Save as a draft.

Start new blog post.

Stare.

Stare.

Watch Netflix to spark inspiration.

Come back to Blogger.

Stare.

Stare.

Write blog post about how hard it is to write a blog post.

Laugh at how utterly stupid your post is.

Realize you'll be kicked out of the cool kid table.

Laugh because you were never at the cool kid table anyway.

Add Gifs.

Hit Publish.

June Goals Remix

I've been having trouble with my monthly goals lately.

I think there are a lot of factors that have attributed to this poor performance. A couple big ones are:
1. I'm not motivated.
2. I'm not setting attainable goals.
3. I'm not keeping track of my goals.
4. I'm focusing on other goals not on my goal list. (which kind of doesn't make sense)
5. I'm not motivated.

Yea, #1 and #5 are the same. Because I think that's the biggest problem. I'm not sure what is going on, but man! I am so not into doing anything besides the bare minimum lately. I wasn't even totally sure why! Until last night when I was drafting this post a friend called to ask for a favor and then we got to talking and she helped me figure some things out. Everyone needs a friend that is willing to tell you things you don't necessarily want to hear, but probably need to hear. It's all in the delivery. She was so damn nice while she was picking me apart! But damn if I didn't need to hear it.

So, we'll talk a look at my May goals really quick and then we're going to talk about my plans to mix things up and get out of my funk.

May Goals

Be spontaneous
Pay it forward
Organize my Mary Kay inventory.
Spray paint the things in the box in my closet labeled "spray paint these"
Have a Me Date HERE
Write a blog post 5 days a week all month long
Run an 11 minute mile.
Attend 1 exercise class a week just for fun
100 ounces of water a day
Begin my break up with my snooze button
Read 2 books
Celebrate my momma
Have an epic Indy 500 celebration

Whomp whomp. No need to dwell on that debacle.
Instead let's talk about something big I'm going to change. It was brought to my attention that I spend a lot of time and a lot of effort trying to change things about myself that I don't particularly like, instead of playing up my strengths and using them to my benefit. In trying to change things and better myself, I'm wearing myself out. I really believe I have the best of intentions (see what i did there), but I think I'm going about everything the wrong way. I think I have been for a long time.

I don't want to get too deep today, so let's just leave it at that. Let's just say that I'm going to use June as an experiment. I'm my own worst critic, but I also recognize that I am good at a few things and I plan on playing up those things. Instead of beating myself down, I'm going to try building myself up. So..

Be Spontaneous
Pay It Forward
Begin daily affirmations
Spray paint those dang things in that dang box
Me Date
Read 2 new books
Begin rereading the Harry Potter series
Soak up every ounce of wonderfulness in Florida
Continue learning calligraphy (been a side project since mid-may!)
Focus on my fitness goals
Blog more efficiently
Break up with my snooze button
Get back to a smoother morning schedule
Be brave
Take more photos
Spend more time outside
Clean my car
Get control of my email inbox (this will forever be a work in progress)
Do one thing (small or large) every day that will get me closer to my long term goals

My big goal for June? Do the best I can.

Tough It Out Tuesday - The June Fitness Goals Edition

I'm probably going to be flying solo today for TIOT. Allie's new job is kicking her booty, so I'm letting her off the hook. Feel free to send her a few words of encouragement and love though! She'd appreciate it, I'm sure!!

I think I first need to mention that I'm in a really grumpy mood today.
I spent the past 4 days working 43ish hours at NCAA baseball regionals and last night was a must win for my Hoosiers and they lost on a 2-run walk off home run. So I'm still a little heartbroken for them and in general just really bummed about how their amazing season had to end. Okay, and maybe a little frustrated too. I get too wrapped up in my sports teams, I'm fully aware. It was a long, sad walk back to the car last night.

Anyway, TIOT.

If you've been around these parts for a while, you know I make monthly goals at the beginning of every month. I decided this month to make specific fitness and healthy living goals too, just to keep myself on track a little better. Because.. I haven't been a super star this last month.

Establish a new workout schedule with my partner. This past weekend I had someone ask to be my workout partner and without hesitation I said hell yea! We've both actually asked someone else to join us too, so we're still working out the details of when and where and what. I want to get those established and set as soon as I can! So we can get started!!

No fast food, period. Except for the 9 days I'll be on vacation, because that probably can't be helped too much. Basically I'm saying that while I'm in my town in Indiana, I won't be eating anywhere with a drive-thru.

Be consistent. Lately this has been my number one problem. I have a crazy schedule and that's not going to change any time soon. I need to learn to workout around it and make it happen. Consistency is key for me. 21 days to create a habit and I want working out to be a habit.

Anyone else making fitness goals this month?
Link up below and let me know!!
I'm always excited to read them!
